The One with the Elephant Whisperer

Norah had a lot to say to her elephant the other day.  Also, she doesn't know what the video camera is yet - see if you can tell when she spots it:

Norah had recently started "talking" a lot.  It's fun to come home after work and hear everything that she has to say about her day.

Funny Little Girl

Norah typically likes her face touched.  She likes lotion being put on and she loves her face washed in the bath.  In fact, lightly brushing around her mouth was one of the first ways we could consistently make her smile.  She does not, however, like her face wiped when she's eating her cereal.  Funny little messy girl.

The Changing Table

We recently moved the changing table from our room down to the living room.  It had been in our room since we brought Norah home from the hospital, and got lots of use while she was sleeping in the bassinet in our room.  Since she "moved out" to her own room at night, the changing table had hardly been used.  Now that it's downstairs and out in the open, it once again gets lots of use:
In use by one cat

In use by two cats

In use by two cats and a kid
The cats are getting increasingly resistant to being shoved off when it's time for Norah to use the changing table (we keep a blanket on it to catch all the cat hair).  So, we tried just laying her down thinking that they would jump off, but no.  It's not the prettiest thing to have in the living room, but it's saving our backs from having to bend over for diaper changes.

The One with the Cereal Moustache

Norah and rice cereal, as mentioned in the six month post:

We Demand a Re-Count!

She can't possibly be 6 months old already, there is just no way.
Celebrating her half birthday
At six months, Norah:

  • Is eating rice cereal and loves it.
  • Stands for a long time when she gets some help balancing.
  • Can sit up on her own.  She still falls over, but thinks it's funny.
  • Sleeps almost 10 hours at night, but is having trouble napping on her own during the day.
  • Has to wear her hair in a clip to keep it out of her eyes.
  • Misses her one blonde hair.
  • Plays with her feet every chance she gets.
  • Rolls to her tummy most of the time we lay her on her back.
  • Reaches out to pet the cats when they're within reach long enough.
  • Still tries to eat her toys, but is definitely learning to play.
  • Reaches for people when she wants to be held by them.
  • Talks a little bit more, but isn't quite babbling yet.
  • Loves going for walks.
  • Can't take a bad picture, see for yourself:

Rice Cereal!

Norah has started rice cereal. She was a little unsure the first day but has really gotten into it on days two and three. She loves to help feed herself which makes for messy but fun meals.
